Tate Dining Room: culinary expressionism
Uniqueness and sophistication come together in the streets of Soho in Hong Kong to house the Tate Dining Room, an exclusive restaurant where the cuisine becomes art and Vicky Lau its artist.
Tate is a little restaurant of 26 seats born in 2012 from the hand of Vicky Lau, who offers diners the creative cuisine of her “Edible stories”. With these menus, its creator wants to take guests on a culinary journey through visual and gustatory stimulation. A culinary exploration whose style is defined by its chef as an eclectic blend of French and Asian cuisine.
Vicky Lau graduated in Graphic Communication from New York University but it was in Bangkok, at Le Cordon Bleu school, where she discovered her vocation for cooking which brought her to work under the guidance of the prestigious chef Sebastian Lepinoy, at the Cépage restaurant in Hong Kong. These experiences led Lau to discover food as a platform for artistic expression to develop her personality and inspirations and create the culinary expressionism which represents her. This career led Vicky Lau to win the award from Veuve Clicquot as Asia’s Best Female Chef 2015 of the list of the 50 Best Restaurants in Asia 2015.
